Have you ever heard of squab pie? No? You really should try it!
Squab pie was a common dish in Victorian times, often eaten by working-class families. It resembled a modern-day Shepherd's Pie, with the meal being served in single-serve pastries, with meat and vegetables inside. Oftentimes, the meat used was pigeon meat, as it was easy to acquire, season and prepare, but today's iteration of squab pie swaps the pigeon meat for lamb!
Though, no one's stopping you from making authentic squab pie, either 😂
