Cast of Characters
Let Me Introduce You to our Cast Of Characters Throughout the Series
Our Protagonist
Jed is descended from ancestors from Ceres, a dwarf planet in the Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter in the inner solar system.
Our hero was bred with a special ability: to ‘Call in the Light,’ a source of energy for good that outshines darkness and brings peace and calm.
His fellow Ceresian, Dan, also has this special ability, and the pair occasionally works together.
As time-traveling Mediators, Jed and Dan bear the weight of crucial missions entrusted to them by the Venusian Council or the Intergalactic Alliance. Their tasks involve supporting populations on ‘awakening’ planets as they raise their consciousness.
Despite the camaraderie of their fellow Mediators and the support of the Venusian Council, their work is often a solitary yet significant endeavor.
Our Leading Ladies
Deborah, the daughter of the aristocratic philanthropist Sir Eliah Miller, owner of an ironworks, is a testament to resilience. After losing her mother at 6, Deborah was raised by her father to understand the company, preparing her to run it successfully.
Defying social norms, Deborah emerges as a strong woman with a voice. She joins her father on the Committee to organize the 1851 World Fair (Expo) in London.
Marie and her brother, Hans, are from Vienna, Austria. They were home-schooled by brilliant parents who were killed in an accident, leaving the siblings to fend for themselves. Hans works for Emperor Franz Joseph on a committee planning the upcoming World Fair.
Marie is prominent in the Women’s Committee for the event and shares concerns about rising cholera cases, potential flooding of the Danube River, and a global economic crisis that could severely affect the event.

Eva is from Argentina and found work at many of the World Expos of the early 1900s. Much like the heroines before her, Eva is another outspoken advocate on Women’s issues. She also enjoys traveling for work, despite the initial culture shock.
The Romances So Far
How did Jed and Deborah meet?
In 1850, Jed was sent on a mission to London to protect Sir Eliah and his daughter, who were leading figures in promoting Prince Albert’s Exhibition.
Jed arranged for them to meet the originator of the glass panels that would work with their iron frame for the Crystal Palace buildings.
Jed was aware of counter-agent threats but, caught unawares, was unable to save Sir Eliah, who was shot by a Tresian foe. As Jed comforted Deborah, their eyes met, and they exchanged a moment of understanding, some comprehension of the enormity of this incident - a snapshot in time.
How did Jed and Marie meet?
In 1873, as Emperor Franz Josef’s Scientific Advisor, Jed sought insights into the Expo’s challenges from Hans and Marie, and she shared her concerns.
Jed suggested solutions involving the Women’s Committee, which Marie implemented. On a visit to the head of the River Danube, Jed and Marie encountered the counter-agent. The two men fought, ending up in the swift-flowing water. Jed survived a near-death drowning experience and was nursed back to health by Marie.
How did Jed and Eva meet?
In 1904, Jed is sent back to Earth to protect another World Expo – this time in St. Louis, Missouri. At the same time, Eva Moretti is working at the Expo.
When a Tresian inevitably shows up to wreak havoc, Jed and Eva cross paths time and time again, leading Eva to question Jed’s true connections to the Expo – while also becoming simultaneously intrigued by him.
Our Groups and Settings
The Venusian Council is a group of Ceresians, formed after their people escaped from the home planet, to continue leading the survivors on Venus.
After the massive Tresian attack, the population fled into space in mining ships. A number of them managed to escape the dogged space chase of the Admiral in charge of the Tresian fleet.
A group of planetary leaders formed the Intergalactic Alliance. The mission of this multiversal force is Planetary Stewardship, supporting planets in the ‘awakening’ process.

Their time-traveling, ageless ambassadors assisted the Ceresian refugees. Terraformed caverns deep in planet Venus were prepared to accommodate the remains of this race. This was a safe haven for the weary and traumatized survivors.
The Alliance calls on the Light of the Venusian Mediators to support and illuminate the World Expos as pivotal events in the planetary ascension process.
Plutonians, especially, do not support this intervention. They want spoils from these developing planets for their own commercial gain and hire mercenaries to sabotage the events.
The World Fairs (Expos.) The Alliance recognizes them as a strategic way to help planets achieve a higher level of consciousness. Through increased trade, culture, commerce, industry, and innovation, these events serve as catalysts for showcasing and spreading ideas.
Our Antagonists
The Plutonians are from the dwarf planet Pluto in the Kuiper Belt. Their leaders plan universal domination. In their icy world with five moons, they are an advanced race greedy for more space and wealth.
By keeping target populations at a bare subsistence level, they hope to exploit both people and the planet. Although not warriors by nature, the Plutonians possess abilities they adapt for use by their mercenaries. This depressing quality drains the energy of those in its presence and can quickly spread, affecting entire areas.
The Tresian warriors, who temporarily live on Pluto as mercenaries for their current masters, are adept at tuning in and maximizing this tool for fieldwork.
They hail from the Dark Planet TrES-2b, the gas giant exoplanet of eternal night. It orbits a G-type star and emits less than 0.1 % light, breeding a race of people who live in artificial light.
With the planet destined to implode, they used their skills to become mercenaries, scouting other suitable planets to take over and inhabit.

The Tresians are a hardy breed of time travelers, skilled in the art of war and drawing on knowledge from across the ages.
They can be identified by their stocky build, dark hair, and grim features. Quick-thinking, they have a hot temper, ready to flare into fights.
To maintain composure, they focus on the mission – to benefit their people while serving the Plutonian masters.
The Villains (Tresians) so far are Ira, followed by Pierre, then Ike, and later Ezra.

Ira was Jed’s first opponent, who tried to sabotage the earliest World Fairs.
Pierre and Ike were easily some of Jed’s angriest adversaries and were far more skilled than Ira when it came to manipulating angry Earthlings.

Pierre, however, has a distinguishing characteristic. The Tresians once held the secret of the Light but lost it. As a result, this Tresian has a mutant gene that shows outwardly as a faint, sickly light.

Ezra has become one of Jed’s most dangerous adversaries. He takes his failures very personally and develops a vendetta against anyone who disrupts his plans.
